  • How We Learn?

    Funded Apr 19, 2024

My students and I used the resources in creating daily student work. Children at this age level are encouraged to be independent. We must and always place the materials at their level for easy access. So when we do an activity they can independently get the materials they needed. One particular activity we did is when do the Building Unit, where students are encouraged to build using LEGO bricks, we added bricks people as construction workers. Students play and communicate with each other as they played. We also used the Puppet stand, where students interact with puppets during centers.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lacatan

  • "Learn Through Play"

    Funded Oct 2, 2020

Thank you for funding my project. This projects "Learn Through Play" help my students gained and develop social and emotional skills. A skills that must be develop in early years of a child. My students learned to shared, take turns, communicate with others by playing games like dress up, make- believe, I spy, and more. There eyes lit as soon as they see the learning materials. Students were so eager to play with them. They think they were just playing but to early educators like me it was full of learning. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lacatan

These materials will make a difference in my student's learning. I want to provide my student's age-appropriate resources to partake in daily activities at home. Many of my students do not have access to materials such as playdough, counters and it makes it difficult for them to engage in a given lesson. With these materials, I want to create Learning Through Play Home Baggie for my students for them to participate in Blended Learning. I have listed age appropriate materials needed to develop my students fine motor skills such as playdough, lacing beads, pegboards. I also included on my lists toys that will foster critical thinking and imagination such as Thinkers Toys and Stem Toy Builder. With these materials I believed that my students will greatly benefit from learning through play.
