Before going into teaching I worked in the field of Technology and Tech-support. I worked for companies like Best Buy, Apple, and MSKCC, providing tech-support in a vast variety of forms. One of the many things I learned throughout my years in tech is the power that technology possesses in making information accessible to all. This year there will be many challenges related to how our students learn, I want to make sure that they have the tools they need to ensure that information reaches them, even when their teacher physically can't. I personally know how effective, efficient, and reliable Apple products are for Education and trust my abilities and the training I've received to utilize them to best maximize my students' learning experiences this upcoming school year. These iPads will be used to replace physical papers/hand-outs and give students access to the internet to research the resources and materials they'll need while they're in class. They will also give students the ability to have their own personal screens to view class presentation slides, considering that they'll now be socially distanced and there will only be so many kids who will be able to sit near the smartboard. Students will also have the ability to use apps that allow them to communicate with other students in the room during full-class discussions while maintaining the proper social-distance. Students will be able to use Google Classroom on the iPads while in-class to complete their classwork. Students with learning disabilities will be able to use various apps on the iPad that help support and aid their learning.
