The materials and supplies that I am requesting already have a "home." The foam letters will go on the trays for students to begin familiarizing themselves with letter names and sounds. The foam shapes will follow after them for imaginative building. Students will activate their imagination by using the shapes to build the things they see around them. Three squares and a circle, and they're learning to build a tree out of shapes. The construction paper follows after the shapes and letters. Ripping the construction paper up allows students to practice their fine motor skills. They'll open their binders after they've ripped up the paper and find the page that has their name on it. Along comes the glue stick and they are gluing the pieces of paper onto their name to hang on the wall or show their friends on Zoom. What's most important is that we are using our hands and allowing children to be children, even through remote learning. Then along come the bears and the counting cubes. We are practicing building and recognizing patterns and understanding one to one correspondence while still using our hands-on learning opportunities. We are active and engaged and though we are online, we are still exploring the world in different ways. All of the supplies and materials I am requesting have a purpose, please help me to bring them "home."
