I would love to be able to give my students the incredible experience of picking up their own copy of a chapter book and reading it together with their classmates. When each student is given their own copy of the book, they are more engaged during the reading and lessons to follow.
This novel study will give my students the opportunity to dive deep into the text and have meaningful class discussions about the different points of view from each of the characters, share their predictions and inferences, draw conclusions, and most importantly, develop and enhance their love of reading chapter books. The wonderful teacher-created resources on TPT will help me develop appropriate lessons for my students to enjoy their discussions and activities about the story.
By donating to this project, you will support my students' in meeting so many of the Common Core Standards. They will not only be working on their reading fluency and comprehension but also improve their listening and speaking standards. In addition, this story is a great way to discuss the challenges that come with being a 5th grader who struggles with reading and getting along with their peers.
