  • Learning Through Center Time

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

The Students love using the new resource that we received in the classroom. They were so happy to explore the packages and make guesses about what they thought was in the package. The students really enjoyed counting and sorting the dinosaur counters. The students thought the real bug kit and the view master box were super cool. The whole class loves looking at the real bug with a magnifying glass to see it up close. The students love to look at the view master and get super excited when we change out the card (we change out the card because it was too hard/ complicated for a 4 year old to do it). The puzzle storage rack really helps keep the puzzle area nice and organize so the students can easy pick out what puzzle they want to do. The students this year love art center and love to use the garden stencils to help them color different bugs/insects. The nesting dolls, basic life skills boards, and the linking cubes are great to have in the class because it works on their fine motor skills and they are great for teaching about size (nesting dolls) and about counting and colors (linking cubes). The Handy scooper is also great for teaching a math lesson about sorting colors or evening counting and it also works with their fine motor skills. The students are super excited to have the counting apples and the sensory leaves when we start talking about our tree unit. Another favorite is the flower garden, the students really enjoy making their own garden that they can change around. We are going to be starting our tree unit October 3rd. We will also learn about other fall things that happens this time of year (apple picking, pumpkins, leaves changing). I plan on having the students do an apple tasting, an applesauce tasting, apple juice tasting, pumpkin seed tasting, pumpkin pie tasting, and lots of crafts and STEM activities! We are so excited to start our next unit! Thank you again for your support in my classroom.”

  • Meaningful Morning Meeting

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for giving to my classroom. The students have been so excited to explore the new morning meeting materials. Morning meetings have changed so much! The students were so intrigued by the circle time learning center and calendar the most. The circle time learning center is perfect for my class. It is such a great review and conversation starter.

The students love the circle time learning center! They all get very excited to come up to add the clothes and move the star to the correct day. The students are delighted to come up to the calendar to change to days out and to talk about what day we are on. They look forward to being able to see if we have anything special going on that day. The alphabet cards work great to review our letter song. They get so excited to be able to choose if we are going to use which set. They also enjoy having them in the Library center with the alphabet center pocket chart that I have included.

Since we started school in August, we have been learning about our safety rules and procedures. We have been practicing our safety rules a lot to make sure we can be safe in the classroom. Our next unit will be about trees that starts in October. I am going to turn our dramatic play interest area into a apple tree farm and a pumpkin patch for fall.”

  • Let's STEM-ulate Our Brains

    Funded Jul 27, 2021

Thank you so much for giving to my classroom. The students have been so excited to explore the new materials. The students were very happy to walk into my classroom and see it filled with new manipulatives. The class favorites are the rainbow straw constructors and the Bristle Blocks.

The students love using the manipulatives in the morning when they first get to school. They are great in the morning for the students to start conversations with their peers and teachers. They are also great for the students to use during small group time. The students love to build new things with all the new manipulatives. It is very interesting to see how their minds work at this age and to see what they can make and build.

  • Making Magic with Manipulatives

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to have hands-on learning. The students were so excited when I brought the boxes into the classroom. They all wanted to huddle around to see what was inside. As I was opening the boxes, the students could not contain their excitement. They were all screaming from excitement. Every time I pulled out a new item they shouted and clapped their hands. The students love their new center activities. I introduced the alphabet learning locks, counting cones, magnetic shapes building set, and the magnetic fishing math center during small group time before I put them out for the students to use. The students were so excited to be able to build with the magnetic shapes because we were learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The students loved the counting cones because they can make each other ice cream cones while still working on counting. I also love how the alphabet learning locks have the matching letters and pictures on the locks, so the students can work on matching letters and the sounds. I am so grateful we have these in the classroom to help the students learn. These will make such a difference in the classroom. I am so honored to have donors that help make a difference in learning. I am looking forward to adding more projects that help the students learn and grow.”

  • Let's Get Flexible!

    Funded Oct 18, 2020

Thank you so much for giving my students this opportunity to have flexible seating. The students were very excited when the packages arrived. They helped me open the packages. They were thrilled to see everything that was donated to them. The students were jumping up and down with excitement. The students are using the wobble stools, wobble seats, and flexible balance balls for table time. Unfortunately, because of COVID, the students have to do a lot of table time. I introduced the flexible seating during center times, since they cannot leave their table area for centers. The students thoroughly enjoyed this. They were able to pick their own seats for centers, which made center time better. They are now able to pick their seat and use it for the whole day. The students love to go to table time now. The next steps for my classroom, is for more manipulates for the students. The students need more manipulatives in the classroom to help them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah Eaddy

These seats will make a world of difference in my classroom. The seats will keep my students engaged and focused during group activities and table time. By having flexible seating this will allow my student to wobble, rock, or bounce while they are still working at the table. The donations to this project will allow my students the freedom to choose their seat as well as to help keep them focused. When students pick their sit for the day, it allows them to have some say in the classroom which students or young children like. They will be more eager to learn and they will enjoy coming to class to pick out their seat. Flexible seating allows for more oxygen to flow to the brain and more blood flow throughout the body. This will also keep my students alert and focused throughout the day.
