  • A Home for Everything!

    Funded Jun 7, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! It means so much to me and my students to have people like you to support our classroom. We are using this storage unit as a safe space for our writing journals, play-doh, math books, and more. By having this storage unit, the students are able to keep their materials neat and organized. When my students saw this storage placed in our classroom, they were so excited! They all have their own bin with their name on it. Once again, thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping us fund this amazing storage unit. We are so grateful for it & you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Witherspoon

  • Creating a Community Around Stem!

    Funded Jul 27, 2022

Thank you so much for providing STEM activities for my students! These items such as legos and magnet tiles provide students the opportunity to participate in STEM projects. My students have been able to create and build towers, animal homes, bridges, and more! These STEM materials have also given my students more confidence. They have learned so much through these items this year that they enjoy teaching/helping other students learn from our STEM materials. These items have also helped several of my students grow socially. They have made so many new friends they hadn't before by simply bonding over these STEM materials.”

  • Help Build Our Library!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much again for your donation that went towards new books in our classroom! Thanks to you, we have tons of books at a variety of levels! Each year, students come into first grade at a wide range of levels when it comes to reading. Some need easier books and some need challenging books!

The books that were donated helps ALL of my students! I have 10 students who now have the opportunity to take several books home at night to practice! Once they are done with their 2 books, they bring them back and I give them more books that may challenge them a bit or may be a little easier.

My students LOVE these new books! There is such a variety of fiction & non-fiction books which my students love. Again, thank you so much for donating and these books mean the world to myself as well as my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Witherspoon

  • Help My Students Build Relationships with Others!

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

Thank you so much for all of the donations! We use the horseshoe table every.single.day!! We use it for small groups, math centers, buddy reading, etc! The kiddos love being at the horseshoe table to work 1 on 1. The bookshelf is AMAZING. The kids love when I switch it out every month. I change the bookshelf by season and they love picking new books out. The month of February we focused on Black History Month and they learned so much about MLK and Ruby Bridges. The bookshelf is very beneficial for them and it helps get new books in their hands on a daily basis. The horseshoe table and bookshelf made a huge difference in our classroom. We love coming together as a class, as small groups, as reading buddies and reading new books. So, from myself and my class, we want to say THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Witherspoon

At our school, my students will be learning remotely until October 1st. When students come back, I believe we will be spending a lot of time building relationships! In my classroom currently, I have individual desks and my desk with no area for small groups. Students will thrive with an area where I can meet with small groups to teach cooperation, encourage interaction, and help their developmental growth. I am also in need of a display bookshelf! This bookshelf will be used to help display books from different cultures, holidays, etc. I think it's important to have a variety of books on display so students get a choice in what they read. I believe this table and bookshelf are a necessity in my classroom. My students will have many opportunities to meet at the horseshoe table with myself and a small group and build relationships with one another. They will also get to see a variety of books from different cultures that they can read independently.
