My school is not a STEM school. I would love to bring some STEM projects into my classroom. I know how beneficial it is for students to build and create while still having fun and problem solving. All the items on this list will be used to further me in creating my STEM classroom dreams come true. I have added items on my list that will encourage students to start using critical thinking skills to build while they are still having fun. Items like magnetic tiles are great as students start to understand positive and negative charges. Gears will help them start thinking about the mechanics and engineering of items they use in their everyday life. I also will be using the TeacherPayTeacher gift card to find resources that will help enhance my math education. I want to find ways to put the love of math back into my students. They are already in 2nd grade, but they have already been taught that math is long, boring and hard. Our school is small and we don't get much funding for items such as this. These are students who live in such a rural community and they do not have the same opportunities as students to live in larger cities and urban areas. I am just a new teacher, but I understand the importance of STEM and want to start introducing it into my classroom.
