Having a classroom library makes a world of difference to a reluctant reader. A student can just grab a book off of my shelf without any fuss. They can bring the book home and return at their leisure. I have had students tell me how they do not frequent the library, but they will take a book of of the shelves in my classroom. I often have students tell me how much they enjoyed a novel, and they recommend the book to their friends. Our small classroom library helps create a culture of readers.
