Many 5th grade boys complain about the book choices they have at their reading level. Secret Garden, Little Woman, Esperanza Rising are just a few books that we have in our curriculum library that do not peak their interest. Give these boys something they can enjoy adventure, humor, and fun. Of course girls will love these books as well and it will give everyone something that they can discuss in small groups! The books that I have chosen are classic books that everyone enjoys. They will give joy to everyone that holds a copy.
