The Right Seat
Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you for helping provide flexible seating in our classroom. Now our students have choices in the classroom that foster engagement. The kindergarteners were beyond excited when they say the wobbly cushions and "ball" seats. As a teacher, I can see the difference in focus in our classroom. Some of the students liked the idea of the "ball" chair but decided to have a traditional seating or wobbly cushion after they were able to experience it for a few days. Some students prefer the "ball" seats as they are able to wobble, rock, and bounce gently while they work. It has not been a distraction in our classroom and our students take pride in their choices and have learned to make decisions that are best for them. In our classroom we also have the wobbly cushions in our library for floor seating as well as at our small group table. Again thank you for your support!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and 3 other donors.Early Literacy Learning
Funded Aug 31, 2023Thank you for your support with enhancing our learning environment. Our kindergarteners really enjoy working with the literacy activities that you have helped to provide in our classroom. Throughout the week students have the opportunity to work individually or with a partner to reinforce skills taught in the classroom. The activities are differentiated so all students can be supported regardless of reading level. In our classroom we have students working on alphabet recognition while other students are working on blending and encoding words. The students were interested and excited the moment the activities were shown to them. The goal is to keep providing our students with interactive ways to reinforce skills so that they can continue to embrace school without feelings of defeat that can be associated with learning new skills under the umbrella of literacy.”

Just wait until I tell them all about the new STEM supplies we will be getting that they will be able to work with during morning work, math and reading centers! They are going to be blown! Again, THANK YOU so much for supporting our class!”

Desk Pets for Behavioral Management
Funded Aug 29, 2022The students enjoyed earning desk pets in our class. Since the first day that most students saw the desk pets, which was open house they were excited to see how they could get one. Each day the students were determined and always willing to make adjustments to their behavior when needed. With desk pets the students felt more in control of their decisions and understood the benefits of effective decision making. Throughout the year they were able to purchase items for their desk pets and looked forward towards "desk pet time". Some students would choose their desk pets for reading time and take their desk pets with them to the library for silent reading. Thanks for your support!”

Keeping Up Virtually!
Funded Jan 7, 2021Thank you for your support with my "Keeping it Virtual" project. With the use of the iPad, students are able to connect and share work with other students while being virtual. The classroom iPad allows students to interact while some students have moved to the face to face setting and others remain virtual. I am able to assign interactive lessons and allow students to utilize the tools on the iPad to share their thinking!
The most exciting component about having the iPad is how easily the students can navigate the device and engage with the lessons. The students are able to complete assignments and take on new roles while learning.”
