The use of guided math, writing, and reading instruction is a daily activity and practice in my classroom. In 4th grade, our social studies standards in Hawaii is Hawaiian Studies. There are a lot of textbooks, handouts, and other printed materials as well as artwork and cultural materials that can be magnified using this tool. We can use the document camera to read aloud the mo'olelo (stories) together and display the images from the texts that help these stories come to life. We can look closely at lava rocks, as we discuss the formation of volcanoes for science. I can more easily model the use of manipulatives for math concepts with this tool. Additionally, if we do need to go 100% virtual learning, I will also be able to use this document camera to display work during virtual class meetings or to create videos that I make for instruction for students for asynchronous learning.
By donating to our project, you will help increase student engagement and understanding in the classroom. This document camera will positively affect student learning in the classroom, whether it is in-person or online.
