Staying Warm This Winter
Funded Jan 17, 2024It is with gratitude that I sit here to write this impact letter sharing with you the difference your donations have made for our students. Our students were so appreciative to receive warm coats for the winter months. Having a brand new cozy coat made this chilly Monday morning feel warm and toasty.
At Dawes, most of the children walk to and from school each day. The temperatures in the midwest have been sub-zero since we came back from Winter Break. When students don't have adequate winter gear, they are sometimes forced to stay home from school. The impact of your donation is not only warm winter coats to help our students stay safe and healthy but also providing them with better access to school.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Curtin
This classroom project was brought to life by Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 4 other donors.Selma Screening
Funded Mar 9, 2015Our students at Schmid would like to send a note of gratitude for your generous donation to our project. Without your generosity, we would not have been able to attend the screening of the film Selma. Google made it possible for 55 middle school students and staff to participate.
The film date was set for March. Our students had been completing projects for Black History Month. This project was an opportunity to watch events from the Civil Rights movement unfold on the screen. Many students were not aware of the Selma March and the work Dr. King and his supporters had done to secure voting rights for African Americans.
The film set off a dialog for middle school scholars to share their thoughts and feelings about the events in Selma in the 1960s. Hearing their thoughts as they processed the events that occurred. Many students felt far removed from the struggle for civil rights during previous class discussions, but seeing the story come to life gave them a new appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice involved. We cannot thank you enough for making history come alive.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Curtin
