Celebrate Hispanic Month
Funded Jan 20, 2022Thank you so very much for your donation towards this project. It is so very important for our children to learn about other cultures and grow respect for all people living in the varied countries of the world.
This project has been beneficial in many ways. It has given my students the opportunity to read about the Hispanic community and the richest of its culture as well as, allowing the students to read books on their differentiated levels. My students have enjoyed reading factual information, the folktales, and the biographies.
This project has allowed my students to identify with our own families, friends, and classmates. It has opened our eyes to the diverse melting pot of people our country is made up of.
Thank you for this project. I look forward to using these books for years to come. You are a truly generous person and my students and deeply thank you.”

Learning how to Manage Money
Funded Nov 2, 2021Thank you once again for the opportunity to get these math-related games.
My students are thoroughly enjoying them. In partners, the students are reviewing math skills with the cards and magic pens. They get a kick out of the sounds the pens make. It brings joy to them to get many answers correct.
In small groups, other students are reading directions, organizing the gameboard, and playing the Allowance game together. It brings joy to my heart to see the students working together as they follow directions and practice money skills. They do not realize the math practice they are participating because they are having fun.
Other students are working with pretend money and coins. They are creating a Class Store and using the money as the currency to purchase small items.
This donation has brought our class together in many ways and has them to practice life-long money skills all while having a fun time.
When the students first saw these materials they were overjoyed. They couldn't wait to get started playing with them. The tools have brought a breeze of fresh air into the classroom.”

Exploring Countries to the North and South!
Funded Nov 25, 2020My students are in the midst of studying Canada. The books that this project bought have been a wonderful teaching tool to use. We have learned so many new facts about Canada it's truly amazing.
We just finished a related activity where the students learned about one Canadian woman a day. They were amazed at all the various careers woman of the past to the present have. The books have helped in the researching of these women as well as, further inquiries the students have.
These books have truly helped my students broaden their horizons, ideas, and futures.
Thank you so very much for your kindness.”

Funded Oct 12, 2020Thank you from the bottom of my heart! My students and I have been enjoying the digital resources very much. I purchased several digital resources to assist my students in school as as remote learners when needed. The comic strip and water resources have had the most impact on my students.
One of the resources was creating dialogue with the use of comic strips. The students had a large variety of comic strips to choose from. They were very excited and had trouble selecting only one. They created dialogue around the cartoon. The end results were very funny stories. They learned how to create the needed dialogue to enhance their stories. We later used the practiced skill to add dialogue to our personal narratives. This introductory activity had great results later on.
The water resource was purchased to enhance our current science unit on water. The students take on the roles of water engineers and try to solve the reason why one side of an imaginary town is experiencing a water shortage. The resources I purchased will assist us to learn about droughts, water shortages, water pollution, and how scientists must work together to solve problems. The resources are fun and exciting to the students and they are learning quite a lot of knowledge. We look forward to designing a "solution" to the city's water shortage.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020Good day to all!
Thank you once again for your donation to my classroom project. The books have arrived and are being read over and over. The included pictures show the students in one of my cohorts reading the books. They truly loved them.
At this time, the students receive Social Emotional lessons every day to maintain strong, positive feelings about themselves and the world around them. The books fit snugly into our curriculum and truly enhance the conversations we have had.
Your generosity has allowed the students reflection time on various topics, discussion starters based on the books, and the chance to read a variety of texts to improve reading stamina and skills. This gift is the gift that will keep giving! The students will carry the knowledge from the books into their family lives and their communities.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
