  • Keep Calm and Snack On!

    Funded Sep 20, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous gift. I should have sent this note a while ago, and I apologize. Teaching and learning during the pandemic was a hectic and challenging time, but thanks to your kindness there was something my students didn't have to worry about: snacks.

Your contribution meant a lot to my children. They learned to rely on the knowledge that there was food available for them at all times in the classroom. During a time of uncertainty for so many my children knew that at least while they were in school they were safe and provided for, all thanks to your support and generosity. Some children would even quietly ask for snacks to take home, and I was able to provide that all because you were so kind and chose to donate to our class.

Thank you for opening your hearts during such trying times and bestowing your kindness to my beautiful students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cruz

  • Kicking Off the School Year!

    Funded Jan 28, 2023

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for bestowing your kindness upon the children in my classroom. Words can not describe the powerful impact your generous contribution had in my children. We opened the boxes together and they could hardly contain themselves with happiness and awe.

I wish you could have been there to witness their reactions and beautiful smiles when they were told that all of those fantastic materials belonged to them, and were donated by people who believe in the hard work they were doing.

Thanks to your kindness my beautiful students were able to each have their own tool kits using the pouches and crayons. This not only helped them have ready access to materials, it gave each one of them the opportunity to start learning to keep track of their belongings and manage their space. With the folders they learned to file their work and keep track of their progress. The bags were used for a wide variety of things including keeping their reading books safe and clean. The paper was not solely used to draw and write. It was a tool to help differentiate and accommodate diverse learners. It provided more options, and helped the children start developing metacognition, as they made decisions in regards to which materials facilitated their learning.

Thank you once again for your help and support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cruz

  • Health, Wellness, and Mindfulness Matters!!

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting our students with your generous donations. The materials that we received were of great help to our students, specially during such a difficult time as this pandemic has been. Thanks to you our students were able to have access to all these wonderful materials that helped them cope with the stress of these difficult times. We also worked on teaching them how to self regulate using this materials and having them identify when they most needed to use them.

Once again thank you for choosing to sponsor our classroom and for understanding that health, wellness and mindfulness do matter.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cruz

  • Exploring the World Through Literature

    Funded May 20, 2021

We are really thankful for everyone who has made this project a reality. Our current nonfiction books needed for our research project did not meet the needs of our scholars. Now, they can travel around the world to learn about different countries that they do not have exposure to. Thank you for always supporting children and enabling us to help them succeed academically. Without this community, our classroom would not be as amazing as it is today. Our scholars deserve the best of the best and this project enabled that to become a reality. Our class was so excited when these books arrived and they were to dig deep into our research project. No matter what, the experiences that these pieces of literature bring to the our classroom is not something that can be measured. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cruz

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Funder and one other donor.
Recently, we had to engage in a nonfiction project for our scholars. They were really excited to learn about other places in the world. However, the project was a struggle since the books we have are either based on animals or too high for the students to comprehend. With the current pandemic, our scholars have made so much progress but they did not come in on a second grade level. As a result, some of the books are just still to high for them to read. With this series, every child would be able to read, understand, and have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. Help me meet my scholars where they are while acquiring new knowledge they need! We also have a scholar who did not like to read, but once he found Henry and Mudge, his whole attitude towards reading changed. He wants to read the books and write about them as well! However, we have a limited amount of Henry and Mudge books in our library. Another scholar has recently jumped to a level where he can now read chapter books and really enjoys mysteries. Cam Jansen is fascinating to him and we want him to continue advancing his reading abilities and love for reading! Finally, our new reality includes having wipes that disinfect. As more and more kids return to school and our classroom sizes increase, we also have to increase our need for wipes!
