Effective School Year
Funded Aug 31, 2020Thank you again for the resources you have provided! My students have enjoyed each and every resource provided. Although, I could not take pictures of everything we have done, here is a few highlights of the moments.
The lapboards you provided came in handy during small groups. Working with students on their phonics and sight words. I would start showing students their phonics and students would have to write their phonics on the lapboard. I would also show a sight word and students would have to write the sight words on their board. We also did a fun activity during the last week of school for the Christmas break, students had to help Rudolph the red nose reindeer get to Santa Clause sleigh solving addition and subtraction math problems. I would show students the math problem with Rudolph and they would have to write their answer on their lapboard and hold the lapboard over their head. Students, really enjoy the lapboards. It gives them the opportunity to write and express creativity when working on a lesson or in small groups.
When my students first received their supplies for the start of virtual learning, they were excited to have supplies to help them start off the school year. Students received the big envelope with pencils, crayons, lapboards, writing journals and etc... students who came to in person learning was excited to continue to use those materials.
As the year goes on, we will continue to use our lapboards during small groups. We will also put our writing journals to use more by creating small writing journal entries for our writing lessons.
Again, thank you for the wonderful resources!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Straughter
