Students love to use the games and engaging materials that were purchased with this project. Having engaging resources like these help make learning fun for my students. Each of my students are able to access the materials to help improve their own learning and skills because it meets them right where they are at. My students love to use the resources because they feel like they are playing a game while they are practicing their math and reading skills.

• Learning to Read Through Leveled Readers

My students love the leveled readers that are at each of their individual reading levels. Each of my students are able to access the materials to help improve their own learning and skills because it meets them right where they are at. The materials are also engaging, fun, and colorful. My students love to use the materials, because they feel like they are playing a game while they are reading and learning.

• Leveling Up Through Games and Leveled Books

  Thank you so much for helping us make this project a reality. We can't thank you enough for your help in making learning fun and engaging in our classroom. Through this purchase, my students were able to play games in mathematics and language arts to enhance their skills. Games such as, racing to get to the value of 100 (math) and making new words through chaining, which changes a word by adding or subtracting a letter or letters to make a new word. These are just a few of the fun and exciting ways that students were able to use the engaging resources purchased through this wonderful donation.”

  This project has also allowed for small group instruction, whereby students are able to be challenged and learning extended where needed. This ensures differentiation and quality materials are being used to help students learn the foundational skills needed in first grade.

  The resources purchased align with the state of Virginia Standards of Learning for first grade. They provide slides that include interactive activities and games for students to learn new information important to the first-grade curriculum.

• Engaging Math and Language Arts Centers

  Thank you so much for helping my students with engaging activities and center maters that help them learn the necessary skills in the areas of reading and mathematics. The resources provided through this grant, have allowed for extended practice of skills through fun and engaging tasks that make learning fun.

  As beginning readers, my students have found the blending and segmenting of letter sounds to make words extremely beneficial. The organizational charts, staplers, folders, etc have made it easier for the students during center time. The students now have access at each center to all of the needed materials in one place instead of having to share them at multiple centers.
