  • Say It With Your Chest!

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

I am completely overjoyed with your generosity and support. I can’t wait to share this opportunity with my scholars and it is because of you that I can. The children that we teach, touch, and inspire will be able to SAY IT WITH THEIR CHESTS and wear their buttons proudly.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

  • The Judicial System From the Perspective of a Black Male

    Funded Feb 8, 2021

Our scholars had the opportunity to read the book, "Class of 89." Upon completion of reading the book, scholars were able to interview the author Lawrence Haymon via the Zoom Platform. Scholars asked probative questions that centered around Mr. Haymon's inability to graduate from high school due to his life of crime. Mr. Haymon explained that despite not graduating from high school; he received his GED while incarcerated in federal prison.

The scholars have expressed an interest in reading more autobiographies in class versus traditional books!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

  • Capturing Student Voices about Their Communities and the Government

    Funded Jan 27, 2021

Thank you for your monetary contributions to my classroom project. My scholars have faced many challenges with remote learning. However, they were able to adapt to using their laptops for all forms of communication for class via Zoom and through email.

My scholars loved learning how to set up the equipment for the podcast and editing their shows that they produced. The two shows produced displayed their creativity and originality.

Next school year the podcast will grow to greater heights and reach a larger audience.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones
