  • Fill The Supply Gap!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

The demographics at the school where I teach at has a significant percentage of students that arrive to school without the school supplies that enable the to learn. Not only are they without the tools that help them succeed, they feel the embarrassment of having to let their teacher know that they cannot afford pencils, folders, backpacks, notebooks, etc.

Due to your generous donation, students feel comfortable coming to class knowing there is one less thing they need to worry about. So, thank you so much for filling the supply gap in my class.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Prieto

  • Fantastic Fifth

    Funded Oct 27, 2022

I cannot express how thankful my students are and I am for your contributions! From the list of materials, the dry erase boards, dry erase markers, and erasers have been a big contribution to my students learning. Not only does these materials enable a different and fun approach to learning, but it allows me to easily assess their knowledge quickly.

When my students saw that they would be using the dry erase boards to show their work versus using traditional paper and pencil, they were so excited. My students are still thrilled to be using them!

Additionally, I have been tracking my students progress in math. The folders that were purchased for my students are being used as portfolios. My students not only track their academics, but are tracking their social and emotional learning, while at school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Prieto

  • Mathematicians in Fifth

    Funded Sep 8, 2021

The students that I teach come from low-income backgrounds. It is difficult for most of my students to purchase school supplies. Thanks to you, you have provided so much for my students to learn and have the means to an equitable education. The following are materials that you have provided for my students: White boards, white-board markers, place value activities, and Teachers-Pay-Teachers (TPT) gift cards.

My students love to use their whiteboards to show their work instead of using pencil and paper. This small gift from you has made a huge impact for them. Additionally, they are provided with many math and science activities that have been purchased on TPT with the gift cards. These games, and/or activities have made learning engaging and fun.

I am so thankful for your thoughtful contributions for my students. Because of you, you have made a difference in my students learning at school. They talk about how much they love math and science, and it has a lot to do with your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Prieto

In the past, witnessing students not only do the math but can explain what they did is so exciting. Students feel like their work is meaningful beyond the walls of the classroom. The item that I am most excited for are the double-sided dry erase boards, because my students will be able to solve math problems on the blank side and write their understanding of the problem on the lined-sided part of the board. Also, it's fun to get away from the conventional, paper and pencil, way of showing math work! For a teacher, it's often difficult to create lessons, so the TeacherPayTeachers gift cards will enable me to purchase engaging and fun activities for my students. Lastly, my students will benefit using decimal operation grids. Typically students need more visuals, and these grids will benefit their understanding for decimals when we are in our place value unit.
