  • Creating a Fun Mess

    Funded Jan 8, 2025

Thank you for your support in funding our project. Play is the primary way preschoolers learn, as it allows them to experiment, problem-solve, and develop important skills like creativity, social interaction, and critical thinking. Children learn best through hands on experiences. We will be able to create more learning opportunities for all students. These materials will help accommodate children’s sensory needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Luna

  • Promoting Mental Health Through Art

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for supporting our class. In UTK children learn through play and hands on activities. These art supplies will provide activities that our students can engage in for math, language development, social emotional, fine motors and the development of the whole child.

We appreciate your donation so we can provide a positive learning environment to all our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Luna

  • Preschool Language Building Tools

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

Thanks to your donations our classroom was able to receive engaging material that provided enriched opportunities for their language development. The material has provided independent opportunities to play with sounds and problem solving while working on their language development. The materials also provided new opportunities to have the students interact with their peers. The letters and numbers provided with manipulatives are easy to use with all the students different fine motor needs.

The students were excited to be able to play with new material. This creates engaging activities and new opportunities for problem solving.

We continue to work on creating opportunities to work on the different developmental skills for every student. Using our new material and past we are able to do activities to engage my students in every new topic in our curriculum.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Luna

  • Growing Bookworms in Preschool

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

I wanted to thank you all for supporting my efforts to teach our preschool friends virtually. The items purchased have given the students more opportunities to communicate and become engaged through the use of colorful visuals.

Communication is fundamental to children's development. Children need to be able to understand and be understood.

With the ink I received I was able to print out visual schedules to provide structure and support in the student's home. Communication boards were printed to give non-verbal student a means of communication. All the students received yes/no response cards to participate.

To elaborate on a topic I have been able to use the white board. It provides a surface to create charts for graphing to develop the students math skills. I can also develop visuals charts to elaborate on a topic and assist the students a way to associate between pieces of information, supporting their cognitive and language development. The board provides a large surface to write in large print the students dictations helping them develop their pre-literacy skills. These tools have provided the students more opportunities to become engaged and a participant in their virtual class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Luna

Providing visuals to children creates opportunity for a clearer understanding of the language spoken and supports language development. With a free standing magnetic white board it frees up my hands to become more expressive with my body to engage the children. I will be able to share visuals while singing and reading. Visuals help increase comprehension. With distance learning the children lose hands on experience. Using the visuals for story time and the magnetic board for their ABC practice, I can become more captivating and engaging to increase student comprehension.
