  • New Library Rug and Books

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

My heart about burst out of my chest when I saw my project had been funded. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I know my kids will be so excited to see the new books and the new rug will help them stay on task during story time. I hope you enjoy your holidays.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fischer

  • Updating the School Library

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

This has been an unusual year. As a first time teacher, I think I can say with certainty that the first year is the hardest. I can also tell you with certainty that these new materials made a huge difference in my library.

The new books have brought my outdated library back to life and I could see the excitement on the kids' faces as they picked up the new shiny books from the shelves and carts.

I can assure you that this is only the beginning and I am eager to continue to update my library to give my students the media center that they deserve!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fischer

  • Diverse Books for Diverse Kids

    Funded Aug 20, 2020

Wow! I can't even begin to thank you for your generosity. This started simply as a way to make sure that my diverse body of students had the books they need with a smaller library budget.

I wish that I could share pictures of my students reading the books or even give you a little anecdote about how one of the students absolutely just loved one particular book, but with the current situation, I am unable to.

I am able to tell you that these books will be waiting patiently for the students to come back to school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fischer

My diverse school with a small budget needs help with obtaining diverse books for our library. As a librarian, my first passion is to promote a love of reading, especially in kids. This will be easier if I have books on the shelf that my students feel represent them. Currently, diversity on my shelves is at a minimum. I was hired to change things up in this library and I think this is the absolute least I should do. The best part about these books is that they are not limited to the students of the school. Staff, families and friends of the students have access as well.
