As we move back into the classroom amidst this terrifying Covid-19 pandemic, I am looking to provide an environment for my students that is as safe as I can possibly make it. Though the school has promised to clean regularly and have provided masks and desk shields for students, this just doesn't seem to be enough. Please help by allowing me to make the air clearer with a HEPA filtration system, so the classroom can be just a little bit safer for my 7th grade gifted students. Though this is not an ideal situation, I would like to help ease the fears of my students and their parents by trying to remove some of the potential contaminates from my classroom. The particular filtration system chosen would be enough to cover my entire classroom, which is around 1200 sq ft. This would provide some peace of mind for all - myself included. In addition to the filter, I am hoping to be able to acquire a wireless microphone system so that while I am masked and being safe, all of my students will be able to hear me. Since walking around the room is not an option, and students will be sitting behind plastic partitions, I worry that my students near the back of the room may have difficulty hearing me, which could hinder their education.
