This school is in an area that is considered one the poorest in the country. Without programs such as the one I work for, many of these students will fall through the cracks. The majority are minority students, and many of these students face incredible challenges at home, having to work full time jobs in order to help their families survive. Because of these challenges, many of these students struggle in school and need all the interventions that they can get.
