My students have just a few options when they want to read in Spanish. I have been creating a small library in the classroom (with the option for the students at home to borrow the book by picking it from the front office). These are comprehensible books for the beginner Spanish level. Adding some of these books will allow more students the opportunity to borrow and read them. Comprehensible books are the best books for students taking Beginner Spanish. You can not find these books in the school library or in any library. Students love the books because it gives them the opportunity to read in the language that they are learning! The students in all my classes will be delighted by more choices of the types of books that they enjoy reading in Spanish. It is extremely challenging to get students in middle school interested in reading. It is very important to give them options that will engage them. Engagement is the key to a successful classroom!
