Teaching in a very diverse school district, a lot of our students do not have enough to read at home. A lot of students have nothing at all. I purchase a book for each of my students every month. It would be nice to have some additional books at their level for them to be able to read independently. Having books at their individual reading levels will help the students become more confident readers. The more confident they become, the more they find a love for reading. This will also allow children to read to their families at home.
