First grade is a special grade where many students are developing their reading and writing skills. Both reading and writing skills can be strengthened by reading books. The Reading Buddy program I will be implementing will be putting actual books in the hands of students while they are distance learning. Students will adopt a buddy and promise to read to them daily. The products I have selected will help by allowing my students to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
