  • Help Me MacGyver Science Lessons

    Again, thank you for giving my students this unique opportunity to excel in these challenging times by funding Scholastic's 'SuperScience' magazine for them.

    My class of 150, 6th graders started the year 100% virtual and just this month the campus has been opened to allow 4 of my 6 classes to join me. It is challenging to create activities that can be done in the classroom and for those students at home. This magazine, from Scholastic, allows me to give my students a physical copy and use it online.

    I was so excited when we got 100% funded, that I went online and used an activity from the prior month to teach my students engineering and design skills. From the current issue, I am using some of the stories about pollinators as we just completed a unit on how plant and animals reproduce.”

A student subscription to a science magazine that they can access at home will give me the ability to MacGyver my in-class science lessons to create labs the students can do at home with materials that can be found in their home.
