These tablets will give students access to online learning. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have adequate devices so that they can receive day to day instruction. I am asking for 11, which is only half the class, but it will help meet the needs of the ones who do not have devices. If they do not gain access, they will be forced to just use packets, which is very problematic for our community. Many of our parents work during the day, so the packets can not be completed, and younger ones need more supervision. Many of the students will be at a relative's house and will miss out on instruction from a teacher, which is more effective, because they do not have devices. What will these devices do? They will allow me and the children access to each other. It will allow me to distribute individual instruction as well as group instruction. They will be able to use apps that support where they are and help them grow educationally. When the students return face to face, the tablets will be used to support instruction in the classroom, as well as a reading device, and a way for them to view virtual field trips. Since many of the parents and students do not speak English, the device will be used to help them continue to learn English as well as my other students can learn Spanish.
