The "Start With a Dot Journal," will be used to encourage writing skills. Students begin the journal by creating simply a dot. As students work through the journal, they will continue drawing and then begin writing. I will incorporate key vocabulary and sentence structures that they are learning in order to advance students' literacy skills. I'm very excited to use the low stress approach to writing with my students. Students need to do more than just speak English to survive in the U.S. They really need to have strong literacy skills.
