In teaching visual arts, we encourage our students to explore a wide variety of subjects, processes, and mediums for creating their artwork. My students would greatly benefit from the chance to learn to photograph, upload, and polish their final works into a digital portfolio. Supporting this project would mean helping students become familiar with digital camera functions, settings, and parts; as well as familiarizing them with editing software and other technologies that would aid them in the construction of their portfolios. Students already love having the opportunity to work on digital media. With the Chromebooks already available and this new camera, students will be able to photograph then edit their work as they complete projects to build an ongoing digital portfolio.
