The student body that I represent have a lot of different learning styles. They also need guidance to help them identify emotion, learn how to connect with themselves and others with healthy boundaries, and to be able to have different movement opportunities within their learning environment. A lot of learning can be accomplished during social emotional games. Some of the items I chose will help challenge my students to think creatively. Other items help them move while learning within a safe space. Students can use different seating during class that will promote a stronger core and better posture. The games they will play will help them identify their feelings when they're working and playing games. It will also promote better relationship skills with their peers. When the students decide they need to take a break, there will be sensory objects for them to manipulate and calm down with. There are also some books that they can reference to help them focus their attention on something other than their large emotions. These items, such as the dot to dot book and the journal, will allow them to self calm. Many students throughout the years will be able to benefit from these items. Thank you for supporting our special education classroom!
