My special students all have autism. Most of them communicate in non-verbal ways. Distance learning due to the pandemic is going to be much more challenging for them than for typical students. Under normal circumstances the students would be using materials in the classroom that I purchased on a rotating basis as we did not have enough for everyone. Now that they are learning from home they each need to have their own set of materials. My students need access to these hands-on activities and supplemental activity folders that I will create that will keep them engaged, learning new academic, communication, and fine motor skills and have their sensory needs met. Your donation will help my students to grow and thrive in an already difficult situation. The materials requested will be able to last for the entire school year. The rewards in seeing success in a child who has significant special needs is unlike any other feeling. Thank you for your contribution!
