While all of my students are blocks or miles away, I do my best to create an online classroom community that makes students feel noticed, heard and supported. During these challenging COVID times, it is vital that each of my students knows that I value and appreciate them. Alongside challenging curriculum and powerful, relevant and meaningful learning, I try to add in a good dose of energy, humor, music and creativity to each class. To manage this all, my current "classroom" includes two laptops, an extra monitor, a doc cam, AirPods, phone, daily lesson planner, two white boards and...yes, pen and clipboard. MOST important, however, is the planning before and reflection after so I am ready, present and focused when I am "with" students, striving to make every minute count.
