  • Theatre & Film Promotions Supplies

    Funded Aug 22, 2022

I am thrilled and humbled by your generosity toward Parkview Theatre and Film program! Your donations are funding tools that will impact student learning for years.

My colleagues and I are incredibly encouraged to feel the support of so many people who believe in education in the arts. Seeing our students push themselves toward new goals as a result of their access to tools for learning is such a reward, and you share in helping that to happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Thurman

  • Digital Film Studio Setup

    Funded Aug 21, 2021

I am incredibly grateful for your generous support as I am building a new program for students in Little Rock, AR. Your donations will give students opportunities for years to come as they learn how to tell their own stories through filmmaking. Thank you for your investment in arts education!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Thurman

  • Making Faces: The Art of Theatre Makeup

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

This past school year was a wild ride between learning in the classroom, learning from home, and sometimes switching at the drop of a hat. Your support made it possible for each student to have the supplies they needed to learn safely and separately. Students got to explore stage makeup along with some special effects like blocking out their eyebrows and using liquid latex. They particularly enjoyed turning into much older, wrinkled versions of themselves, and, of course, they loved the fake blood and gore week. I look forward to taking more students on this journey in the near future!

Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Thurman

Makeup helps actors see their characters come to life. Students will be learning to design and apply their own makeup in a variety of ways in order to embody different characters for different occasions. With these supplies, students will be able to work safely and hygienically whether they are in person on campus or in their own homes. In learning the skills involved in makeup design and application, the high school students will learn how to translate characters from the written word into a living person. This synthesis of writing, visual art, and performance adds a layer not only to the performance at hand, but also to the students' empowerment to make artistic choices in their own work.
