Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Aug 22, 2020As you can probably assume, this has been a very trying year in education. With kids spread out to prevent close contact and while wearing a mask, it is often difficult for me to project my voice in a manner that they can hear me. In most instances if they do hear me, my voice is so muffled it is difficult for them to understand what I am saying to them. This disconnected learning from what they are seeing and what they are hearing was a trying time at the beginning of the year! With your generous donation, I was able to purchase a microphone system so that students could hear me from anywhere in the classroom. I was able to purchase a lapel device so that I could teach and my hands were not limited to holding the microphone! This has been a magnificent addition to my classroom. It will be one that I will utilize long past this trying time! I will be able to use it in the future for sharing writing and for reading from our favorite books without having to worry about students not being able to hear me or one another!”

Funded Aug 9, 2020Thank you so very much for allowing me to provide safety for my kids in this uncertain time! Through the use of automatic Germ-X and soap dispensers my students are able to clean their hands without the worry of transfering germs from someone who previously touched the dispenser. Through your generous donation, I was able to purchase a thermometer which has allowed me to check daily and prevent sick students from entering and infecting other students. This has become an invaluable tool this year. In one instance a student had returned from quarantined and felt healthy, but at temperature check I learned she was running fever and later found that she was ill. This helped me and her family to catch her sickness early! The air purifier has also been valuable in that it allows me to put out clean air especially during the colder weather when I can't open the windows to allow for fresh air!The masks have been essential to children who tear or misplace theirs. This has benefited not only the students in my classroom, but in other classrooms in my building!
I plan to continue using these projects throughout this year and for many years to come! Each of these products will help my students stay well so that they can be in school and learninging in a teacher directed setting, which we all know is best for kids!”
