Thank you so much for meeting our goal once more. You've just made it possible for the young minds of Perea Elementary School to excel creatively again. I am beyond grateful for your generous donations. These seeds will be fertilized and the fruit that will spring forth will definitely show through the work of my students. God Bless you and thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Phillip Williams

  • Making Sweet Melodies

    Funded Aug 14, 2020

My students are so grateful for the donations you made. We learned to play basic chords on the acoustic guitars. We learned to tap out rhythms with the rhythm sticks. We made beautiful collages using the construction paper you helped us to get. We are so grateful to each and every one of you.

My students were ecstatic when they saw the instruments being unloaded. The art/music became a place of calm for them. Thank you for your generous donations. And we hope you will be willing to donate again to one of our future or current projects.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Phillip Williams

Music is a universal way to communicate to the world: what you feel, when you feel, and why you feel they way you feel. I want the students to have opportunity to unlock hidden talents they didn't know they have. Learning music theory as children will help them to understand rhythms and tempo in music, and strengthen their math skills as they learn what type of note is held for a certain amount of time. As they develop, they will learn to hold appropriately and strum these guitars to a tempo. The students will learn the rhythms of life by using Latin drums, maracas, shakers, rhythm sticks to match the world around them, rather it be the heart beat visualized by the kick drum, or hand percussion to clap out simple/moderately complex rhythms. The students will be able to actively engage in learning to listen for music in the world around them. My students don't have many opportunities to express themselves creatively. I want to give them a way to love music, and learn to create as a whole group
