  • STEM-tacular Supplies: Sparking Innovation in Our Classroom!

    Funded Feb 22, 2025

I am beyond grateful for your generosity in fully funding my DonorsChoose project for STEM materials! Your kindness will have a lasting impact on my students, providing them with hands-on opportunities to explore, create, and innovate. I can already imagine the joy and excitement on their faces when these materials arrive in our classroom.

Thank you for believing in the power of STEM education and for helping to inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers. Your support means the world to me and my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gonzalez

  • Making Virtual Learning Differentiated and Fun!

    Funded Aug 10, 2020

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year certainly hasn't been easy, nor has it looked remotely normal. However, I have tried to make it as close to a normal 2nd grade experience as it can be. Your generous donation to my class has been such a blessing for myself and the students.

Being virtual meant that everything I knew as a teacher had changed. Even though I had been teaching for 15 years, it felt like I was starting all over again. Every lesson I taught, had to be recreated to a digital version. Thanks to your donation I was able to find lessons that were already digitized for my students. This made planning much easier since I didn't have to start from scratch. I used the resources I found on Teachers Pay Teachers to teach my students math, language arts and even add in some fun brain breaks (games and activities) into our daily live Google meet sessions.

Finally, I just wanted to thank you again for making a difference in the lives of my students. Your kindness is truly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gonzalez

  • 2020 Is One for the BOOKS!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year certainly hasn't been easy, nor has it looked remotely normal. However, I have tried to make it as close to a normal 2nd grade experience as it can be. Your generous donation to my class has been such a blessing for the students. They couldn't believe that people they didn't know, cared enough to supply them with brand new books to explore.

In the beginning of the year I had the children complete a survey on genres and series that they enjoy reading. Many of the books you donated were series they loved or wanted to start reading. When I do book talks on the chapter books you donated their eyes fill with such wonder. They can't wait to be able to read the books that are waiting for them in our classroom library.

Finally, I just wanted to thank you again for making a difference in the lives of my students. Your kindness is truly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gonzalez

  • This Year Is One for the Books

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year certainly hasn't been easy, nor has it looked remotely normal. However, I have tried to make it as close to a normal 2nd grade experience as it can be. Your generous donation to my class has been such a blessing for the students. They couldn't believe that people that they didn't know, cared enough to supply them with brand new books to explore.

We have been focusing on social emotional learning at the beginning of each day, during our morning meeting. We talk about feelings and how to handle these stressful times. We have been using the books you donated as a springboard to conversations. Teaching lessons through books always draws children in and seems to make them more opened to share.

Finally, I just wanted to thank you again for making a difference in the lives of my students. Your kindness is truly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

This year has certainly not been easy for any of us but, it has been especially challenging for children. My students are experiencing a lot right now and may not know how to process their feelings. These books will help give my students a voice and realize that they are not alone in how they feel. These stories will be used as read alouds for my students to help with their social and emotional needs. In the beginning of the year, I will use these books during virtual learning. Later on this year, these titles will also be placed in my classroom library where students can access the books they want to read.
