During these uncertain times and a return to school, which has many people feeling anxious about the start of school, the role of a social worker is all too important. This year I will be working with students both in-person and virtually. The items that I have requested are to ensure the safety and well being of children who choose to come to school, providing me with extra masks for the children who do not have their own. I have requested a tripod and game in order to help improve my ability to provide quality services while the students who choose not to do in-person learning are receiving services via video chat. I recently attended a training where I learned how to use the tripod with my phone along with the board game, Talking Feeling Doing, in order to be able to hold interactive sessions with students who are enrolled in distance learning. Students will be able to engage in play rather than simply talk therapy.
