  • Hands on Math

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you again so much for the support that you provided! I have already been able to utilize many of the new manipulatives and the posters give the students an extra hand in remembering many of the terms and formulas we use often! Recently we have been looking at fractions and proportions, being able to use the fraction tiles has allowed students to fully see and compare sizes that are equivalent.

The students were very excited to have new math tools to learn with, many of my students are hands on learners and this literally brought the math to life for them! As an educator it was exciting to see them excited!

These manipulatives will last many years and will only help enhance the students knowledge of the topics we study!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

  • Lets Do Some Math!

    Funded Sep 4, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me get a full classroom set of calculators and some awesome rolling carts! The carts will hold hands on manipulatives and the calculators will allow students to be more comfortable with math! I can't wait for the students to be able to use them! I am very excited to be able to use more hands on math aids, these are fun and help the kids learn with their hands! So far the students have not been able to use the calculators in person but they did get to see the pictures and many chose their color and number already! Thank you again so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shelton

Our school is an application school in a lower-income area. While a four-function calculator might not be a huge expense to some, it could make a huge impact in my classroom. Allowing students to recognize and use available tools will allow them to see math as something they can conquer. By having calculators available and accessible to the students I can give them the option to use them when needed, this will also allow for a level of self-autonomy. By giving the students the option to use the calculator or not, I am hoping to show them that they can use the tools in their lives to help them when needed.
