  • What Did You Learn in School Today?

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

I cannot thank you enough for the contribution that you have made to my speech therapy room and to my students lives.

Because of your generosity, I have received two different sets of wonderful materials. One of them was the set of books called "A little spot of..". This set targets social emotional needs. Reading these books helps me to help my students understand feelings and emotions and how to work through the more difficult feelings of sadness and anger appropriately.

The second set of materials I received is time magazine for kids. This amazing set of non-fiction work allows us to discuss current event events and also teaches us about non-fiction in general

Thank you so much for your very generous contributions my students and I appreciate it more than you can know!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Richardson

  • Social Skills Curriculum

    Funded May 6, 2021

As a result of your kind generosity, upon receiving the Social skills books that I requested, I have been able to use so many of them to teach underlying emotions and character traits to all of my students. We have completed units on kindness, empathy, feelings, and we continue to use these books and will continue to do so throughout the school year. My caseload include students from kindergarten through third grade this year, and every single one of my students has identified with at least one of the characters in each book that we have studied. Thank you again so much. Because of these new materials, I've been able to reach, teach, and explain these skills to all of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Richardson

  • Keep ‘Em Talkin’!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me to support my students. The generous Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card went very far in allowing me to purchase various materials for my students, ranging from interactive digital materials to printable materials that I am able to send home for carryover and practice, to beautiful anchor charts and motivational posters. Your generous gift card went even further as I was able to shop during sale periods, which helped me to purchase more items off my wish list than I originally anticipated. Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping me to fund this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Richardson

  • Learning Together

    Funded Dec 31, 2020

I can't thank you all enough for funding my project, Learning Together. All of my students were so excited that "secret helpers" sent them these amazing materials to use.

Using Time for Kids magazine and the Lego set, we were able to read articles together & use the information to foster conversations among the students, which is typically a difficult area to target in children with autism. Finally, the Lego set was put to excellent use as they worked together to build the items discussed in the articles- trees, stars in space, tools reporters might use. This led to spontaneous conversation between my students, something we've been working on for a while!

Thank you so much for these amazing materials! They've helped me to reach their goals while having fun and learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Richardson

I use many materials, most are from the wonderful creative minds at Teachers Pay Teachers. I often purchase and use social stories, social activities, supports, and activities that go along with books we read. In addition I use various board games and LEGOs to target my students’ goals. During our sessions, we target taking turns, whether in conversation, or while playing games, and role playing various social situations. These materials combined will help me to help my students become more effective communicators and relate with and socialize with each other in a positive, constructive way. Hopefully with enough practice and support they will be able to generalize skills we’ve learned in all environments. Thank you for this opportunity!
