The students were ecstatic when they saw and played the instruments; especially the boomwhackers! We were finally able to perform a piece as an ensemble/group which was an experience they never had before. Having these instruments will allow my students to reinforce keeping the beat and emphasize playing different rhythms in a tactile and engaging way. These classroom instruments will also give all students the opportunity and life-changing experience to learn how to make music together and in group settings. All students deserve access to high-quality education. Students should be exposed to different ways that music can be created. Having musical instruments provides those different avenues of how music can be experienced. It is my hope that together we can promote equal education for all.

About my class
