Now more than ever we want students to feel a connection to texts, to be able to flip the pages, read and annotate, make the text their own, especially now as they do it from home. Seniors in our Modern World History course and English IV course will be reading Homegoing to explore the topics of colonization, power and privilege, and more. We hope that by using Homegoing as a lens to explore the impacts of these topics we can also help students become journalists exploring the power of resistance & knowing our history. Our goal is to have students publish podcasts including their analysis of the text and research they've done about the regions we are studying and our own communities, we'd love to share once we are done!
