  • Materials for New AP Environmental Classroom

    Thank you so much for the supplies for AP Environmental Science. Our program is underway and I cannot thank you enough. It has made a tremendous impact on my students this year and for several years to come. They were so excited when the supplies were delivered. They though it was Christmas. The supplies to start-up AP classrooms were iPads, and materials for field work. We got started right a way, using probes to test the elements outdoors. Thank you to the AP STEM program for the start up supplies. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been without it.”

Dual Enrollment Biology is a challenging topic as it is, but with the added complication of virtual learning, it becomes even more difficult. There is a lot of chemistry, math, and understanding of visual images in Biology, which makes using a computer screen rather than a pen and paper or smartboard quite tedious. A Microsoft Surface will allow me to share my screen with my students to easily demonstrate step-by-step concept problem-solving in Biology. This will help in students' understanding of topics like membrane transport, cellular respiration and photosynthesis, genetics, and gene expression. This is a necessary tool for my visual learners. This technology will also allow me to record demonstrations and labs for students aspects of the DE Biology curriculum.
