Help me give my students the ability to transfer their handwritten math and design ideas to a digital format with a Wacom Intuos Bluetooth pen tablet! With a Wacom Bluetooth pen tablet, my 5th grade math students will engage in collaborative design activities, even when they are learning from home or socially distancing in our classroom. Using the Wacom Bluetooth pen tablet, I will be able to guide my 5th grade students through a project designing new outdoor spaces for our school. They will use concepts of area (reviewing 4th grade skills/introducing 6th grade concepts) and volume (new 5th grade skills) to propose actual designs for outdoor spaces around our school to our district administrators and PTA. When they are distance learning, I will be able to use the Wacom Tablet and Pen to guide my students through math concepts in virtual classes using Google Meet video chats. By being able to see my handwriting, students will better understand how to work out area and volume problems related to their outdoor spaces design project. When students are in the classroom, they will be able to use the tablet to create digital designs and visuals of their proposed spaces. They will even be able to communicate ideas and collaborate with peers who are learning from different locations! When student work is complete, they will make proposals that can be shared with stakeholders to actually develop some of their ideas into usable outdoor spaces. Students currently have limited playground equipment and no playground at our school. There are very few areas where classes can effectively be held outside. At a time when being outdoors and getting fresh air is safest for our student's health, please help me empower my students to create their own designs for outdoor learning and playing areas!
