  • Circle Time Seats

    Funded Aug 17, 2024

I just wanted to reach out and thank you for your generosity. With the donations we received for my project I was able to order 4 cube chairs. These chairs help students to know where their bodies are in space and helps to position them in the correct seated position. The biggest impact is that my students feet now can touch the floor which adds stability when they are in a seated position. We use our new chairs during circle time and when we are seated at the table for snack and different table top activities. These chairs have made a big difference in our learning and we are so thankful

    for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Collins

  • Play to Learn

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

I am so sorry that it is taken me this long to write a thank you! Your generosity has given my classroom multiple new toys for my students to play and interact with. They have grown immensely in their play skills and are always excited when I bring out the toys. In preschool so much learning is done through play and without new and exciting toys it becomes harder and harder to engage my students to learn through play. So once again thank you for your generous donation! My students thank you too!”

  • A Rug for Group Time

    Funded May 27, 2023

Thank you so much again for your generous donation. Our beautiful new rug arrived in October and we use it everyday! The colored spots along the edge of the rug provide each child a space to stir during our group meeting time. Through out the day we use the rug to play and learn. The bold colors have been great for identifying colors and playing games with colors. We all

Love dancing on the rug when we can't get our wiggles out on the playground! The children and I greatly appreciate having a new clean rug to spend our time playing and learning. Thank you again for your donation and know that everyday we appreciate your gift!”

  • Storytime Fun!

    Funded Jul 19, 2022

I am so sorry for the delay in getting this thank you out. We have been very busy this year! Your donation helped to purchase books that coincide with a new curriculum we started this year. These books help to teach my students basic readiness skills, and social skills.

We read our the same story all week long. After we read we have different activities that we do that go along with the story. Sometimes we retell the story. Sometimes we sequence the story. Sometimes we answer simple questions about the story.

We have all loved the addition of new books to the room and I'm looking forward to reading these books again with my new group of students!! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Collins

  • Catching Creatures and Feeding the Old Lady

    Funded Apr 12, 2021

Thank you! All of our books have arrived and we love reading each book that goes with out theme! My students love to hear about what the Old Lady is going to eat. They are excited to find out how to catch each creature.

Books and reading have such a huge impact on early literacy. Having books that truly capture the attention of my students has made a huge impact. My students are gaining many new skills from reading these books. We work on vocabulary, comprehension and sequencing each time we read one of these books. Thank you so much. I'm hoping to continue to add to our classroom library with my next Donors Choose project!”

  • Preschool Playtime!

    Funded Jan 10, 2022

Thank you! We have received all of our new toys and they are being put to good use! Although they might just seem like toys we have been able to teach new skills to all of our students with them. Students are working on their fine and gross motor skills as well as well as their language skills.

My student were so excited as each new toy arrived. As we opened the toy we were able to use the opportunity it's to talk about the toy, demonstrate how to use the toy and what words we would use while using the toy.

The impact that these toys have made in the classroom is great and I can't say thank you enough for being a part of it!”

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your support has allowed us to add so many new materials to our class to help make the days fun, even though the days look so different! • Let’s Talk About Stories

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you! With your generous donation we were able to purchase all the books we need for our née curriculum! We are just a few months in and I can tell you that my students absolutely love the new stories that they are hearing. We have adapted each book so that the students are able to participate to the best of their ability by finding words and pictures in the stories and matching them to the different pages! We have been able to use these books to talk about the different parts of the book like; tile, author, illustrator, title page, and cover. We've used the books to sequence and retell the stories and create fun art projects based on each stores! Your donation has made a huge impact on our class and we can not thank you enough!”

These materials will give my students the stories to go along with the literacy and math curriculum I have purchased to use with them. The books and resources will help my students in so many ways but most importantly it will help them to communicate! Reading these stories and making connections in both literacy and math will help my class as they get older and move through the upper grades. The language that is used throughout the books and literacy and math lessons will help my students to communicate. These books and materials will make a huge difference in my students’ learning outcomes by providing them with opportunities to engage and interact in books and materials that their neurotypical peers also engage with!
