Today's students need and will need confidence in their ability to learn and problem-solve in today's always changing world more than ever before. These LEGO Spike Prime Sets will be a great resource to provide students with the hands-on experiences so vital to building that confidence. The kits will be used to provide opportunities to collaborate with other students in groups as they work together to solve real life problems using the sets. The kits will allow them to learn abstract and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems in the STEAM fields while developing skills like coding. The lessons integrated with the kits will provide the students the chance to be creative and try new things while also learning that failure is part of the process. The kits will allow them to take new skills learned in computer science and career fields and apply them using hands-on materials where they can receive immediate feedback to see how their solutions work in a more realistic scenario as well as learn to make changes to their solutions and improve upon their previous ideas. The LEGO kits will help prepare them to continue in STEAM fields as their experiences with the LEGO sets will boost their confidence in the STEAM fields due to its simple and easy to use nature. The cool thing is that because it is LEGO, it will engage students at all levels as it can be adapted to help those students with little to no experience begin to develop STEAM skills or challenge higher ability students. These kits will be a valuable piece of our classroom culture and provide students with an exciting tool they can use to apply their new skills in challenging ways which will prepare them for success in the future.
