Books should be used as windows and mirrors for children. In my school my children often have trouble with reading. A big part of that issue comes with not being able to connect with the books that they are reading. WIth the help of donors choose I am hoping to expand my library to help my students become better readers. Having that connection with characters can help students connect with a text and understand it on a much deeper level. This can also encourage them to read more books and branch out in to other types of text. I also included a nice chair for students to have comfort in their reading spaces.
