Covid Learning Request! Document Camera and Student Earbuds, Please!
Funded Dec 2, 2020I wanted to thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. I have been a teacher for almost 10 years, now, and have recently because of this pandemic been sent further into the virtual world than I ever could have imagined. I have always had a love of technology and shared the love with my students, but since last year, it has become completely necessary for us all to rely on technology to teach and learn. Your donation has made this possible for us both in so many ways.
One way that your donation has helped is that students now have the ability to work in an environment that may be noisy. They help them to hear their lessons more clearly while trying to learn and interact with me. They also help the students watch recorded lessons through the various programs we use and interact with me and each other while in Zoom.
The other way that your donation has helped is that by using the document camera, students can take part in various math and science investigations. I have conducted experiments while teaching virtually and they have enjoyed seeing everything on the camera. Thank you so much for allowing me to do this for them.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Fitzgerald

Funded Aug 21, 2020Thank you very much for your generous donation. As a result, my students now have the ability to work at their desks and take an occasional mask break. We are back to school with some students learning in person and others are learning remotely, so we are not at full capacity, yet, however, we are practicing social distancing. All students and staff are required to wear masks everywhere on campus other than during recess and lunch. The remote learners are slowly transitioning back into the classroom, and we will have to use these privacy shields as another form of protection for my students.
The students were very excited to learn that someone cared enough to donate them to us and were also excited to know that it would allow them to take their masks off for short periods of time when working quietly on assignments or during independent reading. As long as we weren't participating in an active lesson and students are working independently, this will provide them some time to breathe freely.
The next steps for my students will be to use the opportunity to be mask free to take a picture of themselves and create a slide with information all about them.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Fitzgerald
