Especially with COVID 19, we have seen gaps between our general ed students and our students with special needs. Our students have limited access to devices beyond a desk top computer, due to funding issues. When the first waive of COVID hit, I witnessed my students fall behind because they did not have access to such devices. Although we prepared packets for these students, it lacked the teacher led component that comes with online apps and programs. Our plan is to teach our students how to navigate online programs, such as, Google classroom, khan academy, etc; providing them with experience in learning using diverse platforms. Within our classroom, we are currently using an online curriculum, Unique Learning, which can be accessed 100% online. This is great for our students, especially when they have access to devices.
