New Adventures In STEM
Funded Sep 19, 2024Thanks to your kindness, we have been rockin' and rollin' so far this year. My students love working in teams and they are great at teamwork tasks. We have done so many activities with the items purchased, including gallery walks, where questions are posted and teams move around to stations to work together to answer them, then share with the class (see Pics). The chart paper, laminating plastics, markers and pencils play a huge role in these activities. Not to mentions the numerous other items such as batteries, notebooks, white board, and clipboards...which also allow students to move around and engage in classroom activities.
My students and I were overwhelmed when items started to arrive. It seemed like package after package came in, and each time they were excited to pick them up, and open them. They even organized the items and put them away. We really enjoyed this as a class!
Donors, I cannot find the words to tell you how much we appreciate your generosity again. Next, our class will be preparing for our end-of-year activities, which includes field trips and moving-on ceremonies. We look forward to a productive and engaging rest of the school year...Thanks to you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Merchant

Funded Jul 25, 2023Words cannot explain how touched we are by your generosity! Your donations have given my students so many supplies that they need on a daily basis, which allows them to come to class everyday prepared and ready to learn. When the supplies arrived, we opened them together and they were overjoyed, to say the least. My students use the pencils and notebooks daily to complete classwork and homework. The folders are also used daily as they are 5th graders learning to organize their work, so having these supplies makes it so much easier. Our electric sharpener has been a time and mess-saver, and most of our work is now digital, so the headphones have, by far, been the most appreciated!
Our next project is on the horizon and I can say with certainty, your generosity has made it a reality. We will be creating models of animals in their natural habitat. Some of the other supplies, such as colored paper, glue, scissors, and markers will help make the projects a success! From Ms. Merchant's class to you, and in their words, "You're the Best!"”

Funded Aug 10, 2022I cannot begin to describe the impact of your kindness. My students are beyond excited about learning and it is thanks to you! Basic school supplies such as pencils, paper, notebooks, and folders alone are a daily necessity, but others, such as the laminator, markers, and supply cart, make our learning so much more fun and sustainable. We recently participated in an energy project where students created their own solar-powered carnival ride. This project required many of the supplies provided to us by Donors Choose and the amazing people like you who support us. As we continue to explore our world and expand our horizons, my students will forever be grateful for your generosity. Thank you, and I cannot wait to show you what we are up to next!”

Funded Sep 17, 2021The amount of gratitude that my students and I have for you is immeasurable! I cannot put into words how your generosity has helped my class to succeed. Receiving the supplies was truly a blessing. We were able to complete several projects and, in effect, they were able to learn so much. We used the laminating machine to create science placemats for a S.T.E.M. project! They were used as a guide to create a carnival ride with 3 moving components. These models were made of building blocks and were powered by solar power. What a great way to learn about the power of the sun, right in the classroom! The organizer drawers are used daily and my students are able to collect supplies for almost every task we have in class. They have these supplies at hand daily and this has eliminated the need for me to go digging for supplies. That's just one more thing that I can eliminate from my "plate", and that is a huge relief. Our next project in the works is an ELA Group project for Black History Month, where students will create posters to place around the school. These supplies will help immensely. My amazing students were awed by your kindness. And I am forever grateful to you. Thank you!”

Funded Aug 10, 2020This year has been especially difficult for students, families and teachers. When we left for spring break in 2020, we never dreamed we would not see out precious students again. But the start of a new school year restores some of the hope that we can get back to a new normal. It did not. However, your generous donations DID make a difference!
The new school year brough virtual classes, hybrid classes, and a few face to face classes. My students were all virtual at the beginning, and one thing that made it easier to adapt were the amazing headphones that you allowed each and every student to have! With all the uncertainty the pandemic brought, these items made learning just a little bit brighter and manageable.
Because of you all 22 of my students were able to have a little bit of privacy while learning online. Because of you they were able to have the hands on whiteboards and dry erase markers that we provided in school, at home. And because of you, they have the supplies they so desperately needed. And so, with our deepest gratitude, my entire class and I would like to say THANK YOU!”
