As new second grade students return to learning in the classroom, it’s important that their learning spaces are designed to keep them active, healthy, and engaged. One of the most effective strategies for my students is take them outside for learning opportunities in reading, writing, math and science. One of the benefits of being outside is that it allows for more hands-on learning and fresh air! Learning opportunities outdoors have many benefits for students, including reducing the spread of germs and increasing learning along with social and emotional growth. Having portable learning spaces allows learning in the outdoors.
